Neal Conan (born November 1949,[1] Beirut, Lebanon) is an American radio journalist, producer, editor, and correspondent. He is senior host of the National Public Radio talk show Talk of the Nation.[2]
During the 1991 Gulf War Conan was detained by the Iraqi Republican Guard.[3] Conan has hosted Talk of the Nation since 2001.
Conan was featured as a minor character in the 1988 Marvel Comics X-Men crossover series Fall of the Mutants,[4] and has featured sporadically in that comic book as a sympathetic journalist over the years.
Conan is married to Liane Hansen, former host of NPR's Weekend Edition Sunday. They have a son and a daughter.[5] Hansen revealed in April 2011 that she and Conan are divorcing.[6]
