Major Neall Ellis is a Rhodesian–South African pilot. He served in the Rhodesian Air Force as a pilot of fixed-wing aircraft, and then as a helicopter pilot in the South African Air Force and various private military corporations, including Executive Outcomes. During the civil war in Sierra Leone, he and his crew held off Revolutionary United Front (RUF) forces almost single-handedly, and the capital was only overrun after his Mi-24 Hind gunship broke down. He also provided fire support for British troops during Operation Barras.
