Food and Fitness:

neck stretches

Two simple exercises for neck muscles.▪ To warm up the rotator muscles, gently and slowly turn your head to one side until you can feel a resistance; hold for 10 seconds, then turn to the opposite side and repeat. Do not force the movements; keep them slow and smooth. To warm up the lateral flexors, place your left arm behind your back and grasp it around the wrist with your right hand. Tilt your head to the left and gently pull your left arm. Hold for about 10 seconds and repeat on the other side. This exercise also warms up the trapezius muscle, the large triangular muscle in the upper back.
