Wikipedia:

Necropolis Records

Necropolis Records was a record label founded in 1993, mainly providing an American home for extreme black metal to start. The label's roster included artists such as The Black, Incantation, Witchery, Rotten Sound, Babylon Whores, Dissection, Vondur and Impaled. The label was put on ice definitely during 2003 when its label founder decided to move on after suffering a nervous breakdown. [1]

Controversy

Necropolis has been dragged into a few legal disputes with bands over lost royalties and cutting corners with packaging and contracts. They reportedly refused to pay for band's album artwork and for the type of packaging they requested. Reportedly the label had taken orders money and not sent the merchandise. Their most notable conflict was with the Swedish black metal band Dark Funeral, over the North American release of their 2002 album Diabolis Interium. Dark Funeral was still battling Necropolis, which was one of the reasons it took quite a while to release their latest album.

Other bands to have disputes with Necropolis include: Maze of Torment (who later in order to release "The Unmarked Graves" signed onto Hellspawn Records founded by Dark Funeral Members), Incantation, Circle Of Dead Children and Impaled.
