nectin-1

a transmembrane cell-cell adhesion molecule forming part of the NAP cell adhesion system in adherens and tight junctions. The nectin-1 gene is mutated in cases of cleft lip/palate-ectodermal dysplasia syndrome. It is the main cell surface receptor for alpha-herpes viruses.
