Negative Creep

"Negative Creep" is a song by the American grunge band Nirvana from their 1989 debut album Bleach. It was named as one of the "Sub Popiest" grunge songs the band ever recorded.^[1] IGN called it "a textbook example of Seattle's true grunge sound... featuring Cobain's frantic wails and screaming on top of a repetitious and heavy grunge riff."^[2]

There was some controversy about the line "Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more" in the local music scene as it was strikingly similar to Mudhoney's "Sweet Young Thing Ain't Sweet No More".^[1]

Covers

• The song was covered by Tura Satana on their 1996 album Relief Through Release and 1997 by Machine Head on their single/EP Take My Scars.
• Dee Dee Ramone, a former member of the well-known punk group The Ramones, covered the song on the 2001 Nirvana tribute Smells like Bleach.
• The hard rock band Velvet Revolver, fronted by grunge contemporary Scott Weiland, covered the song on their single Slither.
