River in central Europe, which rises in the N of the Czech Republic and flows over 140 mi./225 km. generally N, forming the S part of the border between Germany and Poland (the Oder–Neisse Line) and joining the Oder River NE of Cottbus. German name Lausitzer Neisse; Polish name Nysa Luzycka.
