Nellikuppam is a city and a municipality in Cuddalore district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

As of 2001[update] India census,[1] Nellikuppam had a population of 44,191. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Nellikuppam has an average literacy rate of 69%,which is higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 76%, and female literacy is 61%. In Nellikuppam, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Nellikuppam assembly constituency is part of Cuddalore (Lok Sabha constituency).[2]
As per latest restructing of constituency by the Election Commission, Nellikuppam has been merged with Panruti legislative assembly.
The local body is maintaining Four Elementary Schools. In addition to that the town has 12 Private Schools arounds. One of the Major Institution namely Sri Krishnasamy College of Engineering and Technology located 5 km away from Nellikuppam.
