Neue Gleise, a collection (Gemeinsames) of both new and previously published work by A. Holz and J. Schlaf which appeared in 1892. It contains three sections, each introduced by a preface (Vorwort): I. Die papierne Passion; the title is that of the first of the four prose sketches presented in this section; the others are entitled Krumme Windgasse 20, Die kleine Emmi, and Ein Abschied. Section II, Papa Hamlet, contains the three sketches already published in 1889, Papa Hamlet, Der erste Schultag, and Ein Tod. Section III, entitled Die Familie Selicke (1890), is remarkable for its preface consisting of a large collection of reviewers' comments, pro and contra, printed in the original French, Dutch, or Danish, as well as German.
