MeSH [1]

A neurilemmoma (or neurinoma) is a neurilemma tumor.[1]

It is usually benign but sometimes cancerous, which forms on the myelinous sheath of a nerve. Neurinomas commonly affect the ear, where they are called acoustic neuromas; however, they can afflict any nerve.

Neurinomas cannot usually be removed from the nerve as they are developed within the nerve unlike the Schwannoma which develops on the nerve.
