Approaching the City

Major highways crossing Middlesex County include the New Jersey Turnpike, Garden State Parkway, Interstate 287; U.S. Routes 1,9, and 130; and State Routes 18, 27, 28, 34, 35, and 440. Newark International Airport is located a short distance from Middlesex County's northern border. Amtrak and New Jersey Transit service Middlesex County.

Traveling in the City

The Cultural and Heritage Commission issues Historic Walking Tour brochures. New Jersey Transit and Suburban transit provide rail and bus service. The Hub City Local is a trolley bus that runs free throughout New Brunswick.
