The New Media Technology College was set up in 2000 to offer highly specialised programmes in Digital Media. Since then, the College has expanded the range of courses to include Edexcel BTEC programmes in Film, Photography, Journalism, 3D Design, Creative Media Production (Computer Game Animation), Performing Arts, Graphic Design and a FETAC accredited course in Film.
The College is located in Dublin city centre, adjacent to St. Stephen's Green. Staff and students have won numerous awards including the Golden Spiders Awards, Digital Media Awards and The Irish Professional Photographers Association Awards.[citation needed] Students films have premiered at festivals in Europe and the US.[citation needed]
NMTC offers several MA Programmes including MA in Digital Film & Animation, MA in Photography and three MA (by Project) titles. An MA in Film Production will launch 2013. These programmes are accredited by London Metropolitan University. NMTC has recently confirmed a bi-lateral agreement with the ENS Louis Lumière school, Paris to facilitate student transfer between their institutions. NMTC is developing a similar arrangement with the School of Visual Arts, New York.
