Review

A fusion of '80s electro and its requisite Star Wars fixation with the hilarious concept feel of a Parliament-Funkadelic LP, New School Science sees the Jedi Knights on a continuing mission to "restore the funk across the universe." Included are slightly altered versions of tracks from their Clear single ("May the Funk Be with You," "Noddy Holder") and new tracks which make up for a slight lack of ideas with non-stop fun. "Dances of the Naughty Knights" works around a sample from Monty Python and the Holy Grail ("We are the knights who say ni!") and the occasional vocoder bits are spot-on. There are also two links to Jedi Knights' more celebrated incarnation: a house-centric Masters at Work tribute and the atmospheric ambience of the final track. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
