The New Valley Governorate (Arabic: الوادى الجديد, Egyptian Arabic:El Wadi el Gedid) is one of the governorates of Egypt. It is in the south-west of the country, between the Nile and Libya. Its capital is the Kharga Oasis. It is the largest governorate of the country and one of the largest in the African continent, although only the South Sinai Governorate has a lower population.
