The Newport News Amtrak station is located at 9304 Warwick Boulevard in Newport News, Virginia. It serves as the terminus of the Regional service which begins in Boston. Amtrak Thruway Motorcoach service is available for those who wish to continue their journeys to either Norfolk or Virginia Beach.
In late 2008, reports in the Daily Press newspaper appeared on the front page suggesting that this station would be replaced by a new station in downtown Newport News, because the ridership had increased dramatically and the current building was overflowing with passengers and vehicles.
