NewYorker is an international fashion label based in Braunschweig, Germany. It primarily addresses the target group of 12 to 39-year-olds.
In 1971 the first NewYorker store was opened in Flensburg Jean City Center. By April 2011, the company owned nearly 857 branches in 36 countries : Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Montenegro, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Ukraine and also opened in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
The company has over 15,000 employees. In December 2006, the company won the first billion in sales. The company also sponsors the international b-boy competition Battle of the Year.
