Nichusch

A Kabalistic term for prophetic indication, in accordance with the view that all events and natural happenings have a secret connection and interact upon one another. It was believed that practically everything could become an object of soothsaying—the flight of birds, movement of clouds, cries of animals, events happening to man, and so on. A person might become nichusch by saying that if such and such a thing took place it would be a good or a bad omen.
