Nick Peter Grimshaw (born 14 August 1984) is a British television and radio presenter. Commonly known as 'Grimmy', he appears on the television channels E4, BBC Two presenting music show Sound (BBC TV series) on Sunday evenings with Annie Mac (part of BBC Switch), and the late night programme on Radio 1.

Early life
Born in St Mary's in Manchester, he was brought up in Oldham and attended Our Lady's R.C. High School in Royton. [1] Grimshaw attended the University of Liverpool, leaving in 2006.
Radio
From August 2008 to May 2009 Grimshaw hosted Radio 1's Weekend Breakfast Show. Grimshaw now presents the prestigious 10pm - 12am slot on BBC Radio 1 which he started on 1 June 2009, following the departure of Colin Murray from the station. This show was formerly hosted by John Peel.
Television
He appeared on The Xtra Factor on 13 November 2009 as a replacement for Calvin Harris who was booted out after storming the stage during Jedward's performance.[2]
