Tappenden was born in Croydon, London. She began her topless modelling career as a Page Three girl at the age of 20 in 2002 after winning The Sun's first ever 'Page 3 Idol' competition[1] whilst working for Citigroup asset management - even though press reported inaccurately that she worked at Merrill Lynch investment bank.[2] She has become a regular fixture since, as well as undertaking other glamour and retail fashion modelling assignments. In May 2007, she entered the Miss Great Britain contest as Miss Croydon along with Michelle Marsh as Miss Oldham.[3] Tappenden came in 10th place, with Marsh reaching 4th place.[1][4]
She went to Shirley High School in Croydon.[citation needed]
As an actress, Tappenden appeared in the film Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo in 2005.
Tappenden was invited to take part in WAGs Boutique (due to her relationship with Fulham striker Bobby Zamora), where two teams of WAGs competed to run two fashion boutiques over a three-month period. Later in 2007 she released an exercise video WAGS Workout.[5][6]
In January 2010, Tappenden was a housemate in the seventh and final Celebrity Big Brother. She was evicted from the reality show on 27 January in a surprise eviction, finishing in 6th place.[7][8][9]
Tappenden has recorded a single called "Drunk" with rapper Coolio, which was released on 1 March 2010.[10]
She also took part in the Race for Life single "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun", which was released in April 2010. The track features several other celebs including Kym Marsh, Danielle Lloyd, Lisa Scott Lee and Kelly from Liberty X.[11] The music video is available on YouTube.[12]
She took part in a WAGs edition of Come Dine with Me.
Having dated Fulham striker Bobby Zamora for two years,[13] they separated in April 2007 (after she had completed WAGs Boutique), claiming that he had been unfaithful.[14] Tappenden was then engaged to Plymouth Argyle football player Simon Walton.[15] Tappenden gave birth to their first child in November 2008, a daughter named Poppy.[16]
Tappenden's fashion icons include Lindsay Lohan and fellow WAG Victoria Beckham,[17]
