Nilofar Sakhi (Persian: نيلوفر سخی) is an Afghan women's rights activist. She is the co-founder and executive director of Women Activities and Social Services Association (WASSA), the first women's NGO in Herat, Afghanistan. WASSA is active at the local, national and regional level to advocate for the legal rights of women and to create strong networks among women groups within Afghanistan and internationally. Nilofar Sakhi has also been awarded a Fulbright Scholarship at the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding at EMU[1]
Nilofar Sakhi also conducted different national workshops and seminars regarding Women's rights, Convention for the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) and Gender Development in Afghanistan.Now she is the country director of Open Society Afghanistan, OSA.
