also Nimrod A hunter.
Informal. A person regarded as silly, foolish, or stupid.

[After NIMROD. Sense 2, probably from the phrase "poor little Nimrod," used by the cartoon character Bugs Bunny to mock the hapless hunter Elmer Fudd.]
