On February 2007, the former principal John Acerra was caught selling methamphetamine out of his office at the school. He resigned from his position and was placed in Lehigh County Prison.[1]
Nitschmann offers various sports teams for the 7th-8th graders. 6th graders can only participate in intramurals. In the fall, girls can play Volleyball and Field Hockey. They can also be a cheerleader all year long. Boys can play Football. Cross Country is Co-Ed. In the winter, girls can play Basketball. Boys can play Basketball and Wrestling In the spring, girls can play softball. Soccer is Co-Ed[2]
