When Kathleen Downer (Dolores Rousse) is tricked into a false marriage, she and her friend Mary Boyd (Genevieve Tobin) escape to Europe. Kathleen has a child while abroad, and Mary claims the child as her own to save her friend's reputation. Friend, mother and child return to the United States and learn the man who tricked Kathleen was killed in a car wreck and that the marriage was valid. Kathleen then claims the child as her own and accepts the proposal of a longtime friend in his mediocre, maudlin melodrama. ~ Dan Pavlides, Rovi
