(electricity) Junction points in a transmission system; the automatic switches and switching centers are the nodal points in automated systems.
(oceanography) The no-tide points in amphidromic regions.
(optics) A pair of points on the axis of an optical system such that an incident ray passing through one of them results in a parallel emergent ray passing through the other.
