Noncash Investing and Financing Transactions

Significant investing and financing transactions that do not involve an actual cash inflow or outflow. They involve only long-term assets, long-term liabilities, or stockholders' equity, such as the exchange of a long-term asset for a long-term liability or the settlement of a debt by issuing capital stock.
