Biography
A reporter for the Bridgeport Post in his home state of Connecticut, future screenwriter Norman Hall served with the AEF during World War I. He later became a feature writer with the New York American and was on the staff of Liberty Magazine. The author of the pulp fiction novel Balloon Buster of Arizona, Hall entered films with Nat Levine in 1932, spending the next two decades or so writing or co-writing serials for Mascot, Columbia, Universal, Republic, and several independent Poverty Row companies. He was later associated with B-Western star Gene Autry, as a segment writer on Autry's 1950s television series as well as penning the star's final feature Westerns. ~ Hans J.
