Norman Macleod Ferrers
Norman Macleod Ferrers (1829-1903) was a British mathematician at Cambridge's Gonville and Caius College (vice chancellor of Cambridge University 1573) who now seems to be remembered mainly for pointing out a conjugacy in integer partition diagrams, which are accordingly called Ferrers graphs and are closely related to Young diagrams.
