NORAD

A combined U.S.-Canadian command established in 1957 and commanded by a U.S. Air Force four-star general (CINCNORAD) from headquarters at Peterson AFB, Colorado. CINCNORAD also serves as Commander in Chief, U.S. Space Command (CINCUSSPACECOM), and Commander, Air Force Space Command. CINCNORAD is responsible for surveillance and control of North American airspace and warning, assessment, and defense against aerospace attack of North America.
