North County Times, a subsidiary of Lee Enterprises, is a regional newspaper serving the area north of San Diego, California, including the cities of Escondido and Oceanside as well as their surrounding areas. The paper produces nine local editions and reaches more than 90,000 readers daily. Its online edition reaches over a million unique visitors a month. The Lee Enterprises family of newspapers, which primarily serves small and midsized markets, owns or has stakes in roughly 50 daily newspapers and more than 300 weekly papers and niche publications in more than 20 states.

The North County Times is a local newspaper in north San Diego County, California owned by Lee Enterprises, current publisher Peter York. It was formed in 1995 from the merger of the North County Blade-Citizen of Oceanside and the Escondido Times-Advocate^[2]. From 1997, the Times produces The Californian in Temecula, located in southwest Riverside County. The newspaper is published with three local editions including The Californian^[2].

Starting in the mid-1990's, The North County Times began an annual program selecting ten Women of Merit, chosen from amongst dozens of area nominations.
