Northern Neck George Washington Birthplace AVA

This 590,080-acre viticultural area takes up the virginia peninsula that extends south and east from Fredericksburg between the Potomac and Rappahannock Rivers. It encompasses the counties of Westmoreland (where George Washington was born), King George, Northumberland, Lancaster, and Richmond. Ingleside Plantation Vineyards, the only winery in the area, has about 70 acres of vineyards and produces a variety of sparkling wines and still wines.
