Not Honour More (1955), a novel by Joyce Cary, third in the second trilogy, the others being Prisoner of Grace and Except the Lord. Jim Latter, a bluff soldier, is awaiting sentence for murdering his wife Nina, who had been solacing the ageing statesman Chester Nimmo, her ex-husband. His account of events during the General Strike in 1926, dictated in prison, is in a brutally direct style which reveals him as impulsive and uncompromising.
