Review

Even though it's mostly true that Velocity Girl wasn't the same after Simpatico, they still pulled out the occasional gem on their third album Gilded Stars and Zealous Hearts, as well as their post-passing project of Starry Eye. This single is no exception, as the title track is taken from their aforementioned last album and a B-side that didn't make the final cut. As for the songs themselves, both "Nothing" and "Anatomy of a Gutless Wonder" are delicately crafted ballads that remain at a mid-tempo pace while being fronted by Sarah Shannon's clear vocals. Nothing outstanding in comparison to their Copacetic album, but bright enough to stand out on its own. ~ Mike DaRonco, All Music Guide
