The title track is the best thing from the band's debut album Rubbernecking, a subtly epic normal with strong keyboard accompaniment from Matt Barker, a bravura vocal from Harrold, and a great singalong chorus. It's not quite the great lost Brit-pop anthem, but it's a better candidate than some, while the production captures the song's surging power quite well. Two other numbers crop up here, both of which are okay enough but not particularly memorable. "Roast Beef" has an amusing title to recommend it, while Harrold pulls off a surprising Richard Butler of Psychedelic Furs impression here and there during the song's quietly grandiose flow. "Polish Kiss," meanwhile, kicks along in a barrelhouse/vaudeville fashion, a bit like a drunk Madness turning just a little vicious around the edges. It might have made an interesting development if worked on further, though. ~ Ned Raggett, All Music Guide
