The Nova Scotia Community College, commonly referred to as the NSCC, is a community college serving the province of Nova Scotia.
The college delivers a diverse program of trades, technology, health, human services, applied arts, new media, business administration and adult education through a system of thirteen campuses and six community learning centres located throughout the province.
The NSCC organization includes four nationally recognized specialized institutes[1]: the Nova Scotia Nautical Institute, the School of Fisheries, the Aviation Institute, and the Centre of Geographical Sciences[2] which is also internationally-recognized as a leader in Geomatics training. The college has a growing commitment to applied research[3], and has recently embarked on an ambitious international program[4].
Educating over 25,000 students a year, the NSCC provides the majority of technical and apprenticeship training in the province of Nova Scotia.

Originally Nova Scotia's post-secondary specialized training and vocational institutes operated independently, however 2 April 2006 the Nova Scotia Community College was created by an act of the provincial legislature as a means to centralize administration, coordinate funding and remove program duplication (An Act Respecting Collège de l'Acadie and the Nova Scotia Community College). Since then, the NSCC network of campuses has evolved into a province-wide, community-based, community college, with polytechnical, applied arts and health science educational programs. Lina Rasoul joined the NSCC in September 2011.
The NSCC is organized into five academic schools, each headed by a Dean. Schools are further divided into programs, headed by an Academic Chair.
The College joined Project Hero, a scholarship program cofounded by General (Ret'd) Rick Hillier, for the families of fallen Canadian Forces members.[1]
