Novastrike

Games: Novastrike [PlayStation Network]

Game Description

A top-down arcade-style shooter, Novastrike finds gamers hurtling through space in a classic battle against alien invaders. This time players take on the Draelus, an alien menace bent on destroying all human colonies in the galaxy. Humanity's only hope comes in the form of a single pilot, guiding the experimental Scythe fighter into combat over four different planets. The Scythe is built partially from stolen Draelus technology, and outfitted with a recharging afterburner system, shields that regenerate, and two separate cannons for air and ground targets. Missions require players to either attack enemy ships and buildings, or protect friendly targets from invading Draelus craft. More advanced weapons become available as gamers destroy aliens and collect their spacecraft detritus, and each weapon can be upgraded three times to increase the firing rate, ammunition level, and overall damage inflicted.

Gameplay

Novastrike is a top-down shoot 'em up game. Gameplay is very simplistic; you must shoot everything you see, but with "next-gen" graphics and sound effects.

The player controls an experimental fighter called the Scythe, a hybrid of human and alien technology. The Scythe can pick up weapon parts and 'mega packs' left from destroyed enemies to upgrade weapons.
