The Civilization is known as Nubia. The Nubian's developed a system of writing called Meroitic. The Nubian's were similar to the Egyptians because the both irrigated there plants by digging in the Nile river. Some Archaeologists even think that the Egyptians and Nubian's even worship the same gods. The Nubian's even Built Pyramids like the Egyptians.

The Nubians and Egyptians were two different civilization. but they have been conquering each other on and off. When Egyptians defeated nubia they enslaved them. When you look at the pictures of the Egyptians some times you see dark slaves, those are Nubian. And yes they built the pyramids not Egyptians. Black slave power. Also if you look at the 25th dynasty, it was under Nubian rule.
