O Beautiful Istanbul

Plot

A Bohemian playboy who has squandered his wealth falls for a young waterfront waif in this romantic melodrama. His friends in the music publishing business convince him to combine traditional Turkish folk music with a more modern approach. The waif Ayse (Alya Algan) becomes an overnight sensation as a singer and begins a grueling performance schedule that nearly leads to her suicide. Later, Aye decides her love for her man is more important than personal fame and makes plans to return to Istanbul.
