O.F. Mossberg & Sons is riding shotgun in the small firearms manufacturing industry. The oldest family-owned firearms manufacturer in America and the largest pump-action shotgun manufacturer in the world, O.F. Mossberg & Sons has more than 100 design and utility patents to its name. Shotguns are its specialty, but it also makes rifles; accessories such as barrels, choke tubes, and magazines; and apparel. In addition to making guns for hunters, home protection, and target shooting, Mossberg produces firearms designed exclusively for use by the military and law enforcement agencies. Sister company Maverick Arms also makes shotguns. The company was founded in 1919 by Swedish immigrant Oscar Mossberg.
