Review

In the grand scheme of rock & roll history, The Leather Uppers' first and last album, O.K., Don't Say Hi, certainly isn't a monumental release. Call it lo-fi, call it dork rock, call it talentless junk, but O.K. is okay. Unorganized, sloppy, and certainly not requiring a technical manual to follow the 13 songs that clock in at around 20 minutes, the record sounds like an uncool Mudhoney. The three-piece group blazes ahead with twin guitars and snare -- no bass. And though the songs may ring hollow at some points, music this zany with heavy emphasis on stupid lyrics might get too weighty under the pressure of a bass. ~ Matt Carlson, Rovi
