O-Lan Jones (born May 23, 1950, Los Angeles, California) is an American actress.[1] Her first name comes from the heroine of the novel, The Good Earth, by Pearl S. Buck. During her marriage to playwright/actor Sam Shepard, she was billed as O-Lan Shepard.
Jones's father deserted the family when his daughter was a child. Her mother, Scarlett Johnson, married Johnny Dark. In 1979, Scarlett Johnson Dark suffered a stroke and aphasia.[2]
