O2 Germany is growing oh so quickly, it's one of the fastest growing mobile phone operators in country. A subsidiary of UK-based wireless carrier Telefónica O2 Europe, O2 Germany provides mobile telecommunications services to more than 11 million subscribers in Germany; the company's business customers have included BMW, Christian Dior, and TCHIBO. The company sells pre-paid service under the Tchibo Mobilfunk name through a joint venture with TCHIBO. It also provides mobile Internet service which are based on NTT DoCoMo's i-mode service. Formerly known as VIAG Interkom, the company was founded in 1995 as a joint venture between BT Group and Germany's VIAG.
