Oasby is a small hamlet that is in a group of hamlets which includes Oasby, Kelby, Aisby, Culverthorpe, and Heydour.
Oasby is situated six miles from Grantham in the district of South Kesteven in the English county of Lincolnshire. Its inhabitants are socially active and take part in many community events. There is a book club, an art club,a cricket club, an annual art exhibition and a January pantomime. Most events are held at the village hall in Aisby.
The 'Houblon Inn' pub is in the village. It provides a range of beers and food, is listed in the 'Good Beer Guide' and is very popular with local residents. Each year, to raise money for "Children in Need" a charity event called "Baboon Night" is held at the pub. There is Morris dancing, much cheering and shouting and a (toy) monkey is thrown over the roof of the pub. The name Houblon descends from Sir John Houblon who was the first governor of the Bank of England.
