Plot

The cable-TV series Oblivious was a quiz show with a twist: The contestants didn't even know they were appearing on a quiz show -- or on television, for that matter. Using hidden cameras and clever disguises, the producers lured unwitting pedestrians into quickie question-and-answer sessions at a variety of locations, from supermarket to schoolyard. For each correct answer, the questionee received 20 dollars (and, one supposes, began to figure out what was going on). On occasion, host Regan Burns invited a winning contestant to pull the same "ambush quiz" routine on another unwary passerby -- with a cash bonus if the new player was willing to go along with the game.
