Happy birthday to singer/actress Julie Andrews, who turns 72 today. The winner of numerous awards, including Golden Globes, Emmys, BAFTAs and an Oscar, Andrews has been a favorite of the stage and screen. Her starring role in the acclaimed musical Victor/Victoria brought her the nomination for Best Actress in a Musical in 1996, but, upset that none of her fellow cast members had been nominated, Andrews declined the honor. Queen Elizabeth II named Andrews a Dame of the British Empire (DBE) in 2000.
