ODIN technologies provides RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification) packaged solutions for the Aerospace, Federal, Healthcare, and Financial Services markets. The company offers packaged RFID solutions as well as services and RFID software. In November 2008 they moved into a purpose built world headquarters in Ashburn, VA. This facility was designed for RFID innovation, solutions design, team collaboration and agile development with US Department of Defense Level Security[1] (http://www.rfidjournal.com/article/articleview/4501/1/1/ ).

In May 2009 ODIN won the RFID Journal Live "Best in Show" Award for its newly released SMART Container. (http://www.marketwire.com/press-release/Odin-982389.html)

In August 2009 Inc. Magazine ranked ODIN as the worlds fastest growing RFID company

According to a recent study conducted by RFIDUpdate, ODIN is second only to IBM as a thought leader in RFID technology according to the survey. ODIN is ranked as the #1 RFID-Specific Service Provider by MoreRFID, a widely recognized electronic trade publication[2]. ODIN technologies Ranked #1 RFID-Specific Service Provider. ODIN claims over 250 paid RFID projects on five continents. Publicly articles have appeared that show ODIN working with [[3]], The US Department of Defense, Colgate Palmolive, John Deere, Shaw Industries, Johnson & Johnson and many others.

ODIN's RFID testing laboratory is the only lab in the industry which compares RFID equipment head-to-head and produces reports called RFID Benchmarks by bringing their expertise in the physics of RFID to bear[4]; ODIN does not make RFID tags, RFID readers or RFID Printers or other off-the shelf RFID equipment. See RFID Times: ODIN Technologies RFID Benchmark Report.

ODIN won a $14.6M contract from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), which represents the largest passive RFID deployment contract that has been granted to date. ODIN Wins $7m RFID Contract from DoD. The DoD renewed that contract again in 2007. ODIN's focus on the Government space has won them business with the DLA, the United States Marine Corps, The Navy, as both a prime and sub-contractor. ODIN is a woman-owned small business.

In addition to the verticals services ODIN provides solutions for IT Asset tracking and management, and has provided services for large banks like Wells Fargo and agencies such as the US State Department.

The company was founded in 2002 when Patrick J. Sweeney II, author of RFID for Dummies, teamed up with the inventor of the EPC Protocol and former director of MIT's Auto-ID lab, Dr. Daniel Engels, to focus on the physics of RFID. From those early days focusing on the physics, they have led the largest deployments in the RFID space worldwide. The knowledge they gleaned from that deployment experience allowed them to create an automatic deployment and system management software. Notable RFID companies who have purchased this software include Motorola/Symbol and Intermec.

In March 2008 RFID Journal announced that Airbus was awarded the Best RFID Deployment of the Year. In 2006 ODIN was the only company to receive the Department of Commerce's Excellence in Innovation Award.

ODIN has operations in Virginia USA, Dublin, Ireland (in the IDA's Science and Technology Park) Tokyo Japan, and Budapest Hungary. ODIN serves clients on five continents and has expanded rapidly with the recent emergence of the RFID industry. The company is privately held by employees with no venture capital investment.
