Office of Policy Coordination
OPC
Established in June 1948 by the National Security Council, to perform covert missions, especially spreading unrest in Communist countries. The OPC was unsuccessful, and was criticized by CIA agents who were attempting the same kinds of missions. The OPC was disbanded in 1952.
