US Military Dictionary: Office of War Mobilization and Reconversion

Created as an independent agency by the War Mobilization and Reconversion Act of 1944, the agency was responsible for coordinating wartime and postwar economic planning, combining the functions of the Office of War Mobilization and the Office of Contract Settlement. In 1945, it acquired the functions of the Office of Economic Stabilization as well.
