State Route 247 is a north-south state highway in the southern portion of the U.S. state of Ohio. Its southern terminus is a dead-end overlooking the Ohio River in the village of Wrightsville, about 5 miles east of Manchester and 0.35 miles south of U.S. Route 52, and its northern terminus is at State Route 73 in Hillsboro.

History

  • 1928 – Original route certified; originally routed from Wrightsville to West Union along a portion of State Route 137’s former alignment which ran from Wrightsville to Fairfax; West Union to Youngsville became unnumbered in 1928[2].
  • 1938 – Extended to Hillsboro along unnumbered road from West Union to Youngsville, the portion of State Route 137 from Youngsville to Fairfax, and an unnumbered road from Fairfax to Hillsboro[2]; State Route 137 truncated at Youngsville[3].
