The Okinawan languages (沖縄語) are a subgroup of the Ryukyuan languages of Japan. There are four:

  • Kunigami (or "Northern Okinawan")
  • Ie
  • (South-Central) Okinawan (Standard Okinawan, or Shuri)
  • Shimajiri (the classification of the Shimajiri dialects are uncertain, but are often combined geographically as "Southern Okinawan")
