Old Moat
Old Moat is an electoral district or ward in the south of the City of Manchester, England. Voters from this ward elect three councillors to Manchester City Council. Currently all three councillors, Andrew Fender, Brian Harrison and Jeff Smith are members of the Labour Party. The Labour Party has held all the seats in the ward since 1986. The ward takes its name from a road and primary school in the geographical centre. These were named for a manor house with a surrounding moat that was formerly part of the land currently ocuupied by a large estate of 1920s social housing.
